Victorian Villa Door
Completed in 2021, we manufactured and replaced an existing front door on a Victorian Villa
The Brief
Situated in Lenzie, Glasgow our client required a full rebuild of their victorian villa’s front door. Working on period properties such as this, is something we thrive on and look forward to. Owing to the age of the building, planning permission was required before the work commenced.
The Plan
Once permission was approved, we started planning production, taking measurements and sourcing the correct timber for the job. We work with several timber merchants in the Glasgow area so sourcing suitable, high quality materials rarely takes much time.
The Build
With our workshop machinery we were able to efficiently & precisely manufacture the door to our clients exact specification. This involved us working to strict guidelines with regards the aesthetics of the door to ensure it matched the style of the property.
The Finish
Once the door was manufactured we sealed and painted the door using Farrow & Ball paint. The colour used was Pigeon No. 25 and the results were exactly what we were looking for. Once painted we fitted the letterbox, and door knob and lock which all complimented the colour perfectly.
The Install
Having created the door from scratch we were eager to see how the door looked in it’s final place. An installation date was agreed and we got to work replacing the door, thanks to our planning and machinery we had a perfect fit and a simple installation.
The Result
The client was delighted with their new front door, a huge improvement to the front of the property and one that will last for many years.
